Job Description – Senior Producer / Executive Producer

Location: Barcelona Office (on-site, with international travel availability)

Type: Full-time position (on-site)

Department: Production

Reports to: General Management

Direct Reports: Junior Production team and project-based supplier teams

1. Role Mission

Lead large-scale, high-budget event productions from start to finish, ensuring every project is delivered to the highest technical and operational standards, on time and within budget.

The Senior / Executive Producer is ultimately responsible for the project: translating the creative vision into flawless execution, owning its profitability and acting as the primary point of contact for the client.

We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to produce events. We are looking for someone capable of carrying an entire major production on their shoulders, balancing client management with leadership of the team and technical operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Strategy

• Lead the end-to-end production of large-scale events, from operational planning through project closure.

• Translate creative concepts into viable production plans, including master timelines, milestones and contingency strategies.

• Make critical project decisions and take full ownership of them.

• Anticipate risks and develop realistic contingency plans before they are needed.

Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the entire project.

• Lead meetings, present production proposals and defend decisions with confidence and expertise.

• Manage expectations, scope changes and difficult conversations while protecting both the relationship and the project.

• Negotiate agreements and commercial conditions together with senior management.

Budget Ownership and Profitability (P&L)

• Own the budget and profitability of every project under your leadership.

• Build, negotiate and control project budgets, including margin management.

• Optimize costs without compromising quality standards.

• Monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle and report deviations proactively.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coordinate and mentor the Junior Production team.

• Allocate workloads, establish priorities and ensure professional growth across the team.

• Serve as the operational reference point for the team both in the office and on-site.

Technical Production and Supplier Management

• Lead the sourcing, negotiation and coordination of key suppliers, including audiovisual, staging, structures, catering, installation, security and permitting providers.

• Validate technical solutions and engage confidently with technical directors, scenographers and event engineering teams.

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, timelines, safety requirements and regulations.

On-Site Production Management

• Lead event build-up, execution and dismantling phases.

• Direct on-site teams and coordinate all stakeholders involved in the event.

• Resolve critical issues in real time under pressure while maintaining sound judgement.

Post-Production and Reporting

• Lead project closure, financial reconciliation and client reporting.

• Document learnings and improvement opportunities to continuously elevate the studio’s production standards.

3. Educational Requirements

• Degree in Event Production, Communications, Advertising, Cultural Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.

• Additional training in technical and audiovisual production, project management, project finance or event health and safety is highly valued.

4. Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in event production, with a proven track record in large-scale, high-budget projects.

• Demonstrated experience leading projects from start to finish as the primary person responsible, not merely as a supporting role.

• Proven experience managing significant budgets and being accountable for profitability.

• Experience serving as the principal point of contact for demanding clients.

• Experience leading production teams and coordinating multiple suppliers simultaneously.

• International experience and experience in luxury, brand-led or large-scale entertainment events will be highly valued.

5. Technical Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Project, Asana or similar platforms).

• Strong technical knowledge of event production, including audiovisual systems, structures, scenography, power distribution, sound, lighting and large-scale logistics.

• Ability to read and discuss technical drawings, specifications, riders and technical budgets.

• Knowledge of regulations, permits, health and safety requirements and compliance standards for large-scale events.

• Familiarity with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks or DIALux for review and coordination purposes is desirable.

• Professional-level English (minimum C1).

• Valid driving licence (Category B) required.

6. Personal Attributes and Soft Skills

• Genuine leadership skills: the ability to lead teams, make decisions and absorb pressure without passing it on to clients.

• Strong client-facing skills combined with the ability to effectively manage technical teams and suppliers.

• Excellent judgement: knowing when to compromise, when to defend a position and when to say no.

• Ability to maintain a strategic overview without losing attention to detail.

• Composure and decisiveness when handling critical live-event situations.

• Flexibility in working hours and full availability for international travel.

• Strong alignment with La Puta Suegra’s creative, irreverent and luxury-driven universe.

7. Core Competencies

• Production Leadership: owning and delivering complex projects from beginning to end.

• Client Management: building trust, driving decisions and securing successful outcomes.

• P&L Ownership: taking responsibility for budgets and profitability.

• Technical Expertise: engaging confidently with technical leadership teams.

• Team Management: leading, mentoring and developing junior talent.

• Problem Solving Under Pressure: making sound decisions quickly when circumstances change.

8. What We Offer

• The opportunity to lead the production of international luxury and large-scale events.

• Genuine autonomy and responsibility for projects from concept through delivery.

• A creative, demanding environment with unique projects unlike anything else in the market.

• The opportunity to be part of a leading team within a studio experiencing international growth.

• Competitive compensation aligned with the level of responsibility and experience.
